Ingredients

DNA Miracles Isotonix OPC-3® Powder Drink
Pycnogenol
Pycnogenol is a natural plant extract from the bark of the maritime pine tree, which grows exclusively along the coast of southwest France in Les Landes de Gascogne. This unspoiled, natural environment is the unique source of pine bark. Pycnogenol is one of the most researched ingredients in the natural product marketplace. Published findings have demonstrated Pycnogenol’s wide array of beneficial effects on the body, specifically in the realm of antioxidant health. Pine bark extract is an all-natural combination of proanthocyanidins, bioflavonoids, and organic acids. Pycnogenol is especially beneficial for growing children because it neutralizes many free radicals before they cause oxidative stress.

Grape Seed Extract
Grape seed extract is typically extracted from the seeds of red grapes (instead of white), which have a high content of compounds known as oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs). Grape seed extract is extremely rich in polyphenols, compounds with high antioxidant activity.

Grape Skin Extract
Grape skin extract is a powerful antioxidant. The antioxidant properties of grape skin extract contribute to maintaining healthy circulation by strengthening capillaries, arteries, and veins. Research studies have shown that the OPCs found in grape skin are particularly beneficial for supporting healthy blood vessels.

Bilberry Extract

Bilberry extract is derived from the berry-like fruit of a common European shrub closely related to the blueberry. Extracts of the ripe berry contain flavonoid pigments known as anthocyanins, which are powerful antioxidants. Bilberry extract helps maintain healthy circulation by strengthening capillaries, arteries, and veins.

Red Wine Extract

Red Wine extract is derived from grapes. High in antioxidant properties, red wine extract acts as a free radical scavenger. It also support healthy blood vessel function and blood flow.

Citrus Bioflavonoid Complex
Bioflavonoids are antioxidants found in certain plants that act as light filters, which protect the plant’s DNA and other important macromolecules by absorbing ultraviolet radiation. They have been found to support healthy circulation by strengthening capillaries, arteries and veins. By supporting healthy circulation, citrus bioflavioid complex helps to maintain and support healthy functions within the brain.

Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid plays an important role in tissue hydration, lubrication and cellular function. It is a key component of collagen, and it promotes overall health.

Biotin

Biotin, a water-soluble B vitamin, acts as a coenzyme in the metabolism of protein, fats and carbohydrates. Biotin also supports various metabolic chemical conversions.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin that has a number of biological functions. It supports normal tissue repair, and growth. It is also important for supporting healthy brain functions.   Supplementing with an antioxidant like vitamin C is helpful in combating free radicals. Vitamin C can provide antioxidant defense against environmental or dietary stresses.

Vitamin D3
Vitamin D supports intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphorus, and helps to promote calcium absorption and retention in bone. In addition to supporting strong bones, vitamin D promotes muscle strength and neuromuscular function. The main function of vitamin D is to support normal regulation of serum calcium concentrations.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin proven to be a strong antioxidant. It supports the structural and functional maintenance of muscle. It also promotes the normal formation of red blood cells.

Calcium
Calcium supports many functions in the body, especially the formation and retention of bone. Calcium supports overall health and growth.

Magnesium
Magnesium, an essential mineral, promotes the normal functioning of many enzymes, in particular those enzymes that support healthy brain functions.

DNA Miracles® Chewable Probiotics
Research has shown that probiotics have a positive impact on immunity, digestive health and much more. Probiotics help maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract and are increasingly important in the Asian diet as we continue to rely on processed foods and prescription medications.

Streptococcus salivarius

S. salivarius populates in the upper respiratory tract of healthy infants within first few hours of birth. This is the primary bacterium in the human oral cavity, oropharynx and upper respiratory tract. S. salivarius can help to reduce dental plaque, supporting healthy gums and teeth.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus
L. rhamnosus is a strain of probiotics that aids in balancing the microflora in the digestive tract. It is one of the most intensely studied bacteria. One of the remarkable things about L. rhamnosus is its ability to tolerate and even thrive in the harsh acidic conditions normally found in the stomach. L. rhamnosus has been shown to support immune functions and digestive health.

Lactobacillus salivarius

L. salivarius  can be found in the mouth and small intestine. It has been shown to be effective in minimizing unhealthy bacteria in the mouth, thus promoting dental health. L. salivarius may also support immune health.

Lactobacillus paracasei

Like other lactobacillus species, L. paracasei is acid and bile resistant. This aids in the bacteria’s ability to travel from the mouth, through the stomach and finally into the intestine while still remaining viable.  L. paracasei and L. rhamnosus have the ability to survive in the acidic conditions of the stomach. Probiotics like L. paracasei are able to create acidic environments that promote bacterial balance.

Lactobacillus plantarum
L. plantarum promotes healthy digestive system functions by promoting bacterial balance and by competing for nutrients with unhealthy bacteria which may be present. Another amazing talent of L. plantarum is its ability to synthesize L-lysine, an essential amino acid which is required for several functions in the body.

DNA Miracles OPC-3 Chews
Pycnogenol®

Grape seed extract contains polyphenols, compounds with antioxidant activity. Children would benefit from grape seed extract because it provides antioxidant defense and may help support healthy blood vessel function and blood flow.

Bilberry Extract
Bilberry extract is derived from a berry-like fruit of a common European shrub closely related to the blueberry. Extracts of the ripe berry contain flavonoid pigments known as anthocyanins, which act as antioxidants.  Studies support that bilberry extract supports blood flow and blood vessel function. Children may benefit from bilberry extract because of its ability to support healthy blood flow and therefore overall health.

Citrus Bioflavonoids Extract
Bioflavonoids are antioxidants found in certain plants that act as light filters, which protect the plant's DNA and other important macromolecules by absorbing ultraviolet radiation. They have been found to promote healthy blood flow and blood vessel function.

DNA Miracles Isotonix Immune Powder Drink
Wellmune
Wellmune is a natural yeast beta glucan derived from a proprietary strain of yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Wellmune works to support immune cells, which are part of the body’s natural defenses. When Wellmune is ingested immune cells in the gastrointestinal tract take it up and transports it to the immune organs throughout the body. While there, immune cells, called macrophages, digest the Wellmune into smaller fragments and slowly release them over a number of days. As they are released, the fragments bind to specific receptors (CR3) on neutrophils, which are the most abundant immune cells in the body.

Wellmune supports the activity of the neutrophils and primes them for their normal activity in the body, including promoting healthy immune functions. It also supports the activity of phagocytic cells, which engulf and destroy foreign bodies, thus promoting immune health. Clinical studies have shown that Wellmune promotes a healthy immune system.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a vitamin mostly found in fresh fruits and vegetables. Foods that are rich in vitamin C include peppers, citrus fruits and juices, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, collards, mustard greens, broccoli, spinach and strawberries. It is important to note that cooking and heat destroy vitamin C. Ascorbic acid is best known for its antioxidant properties. The capacity of vitamin C to support the immune system seems to be common knowledge. The body does not manufacture vitamin C on its own, nor does it store it. Therefore, vitamin C must be acquired through diet and supplementation.

Zinc
Zinc is largely found in fortified cereals, red meats, eggs, poultry and certain seafood, including oysters. Zinc is an essential trace mineral that supports approximately 300 different enzyme reactions. Thus, zinc plays a part in almost all biochemical pathways and physiological processes. More than 90 percent of the body’s zinc is stored in the bones and muscles, but zinc is also found in virtually all body tissues. It has been claimed that zinc supports the immune system.

Bromelain
Bromelain is a mixture of enzymes found in the stems of pineapples. It is distinct from the bromelain found in the pineapple fruit. Bromelain is used as a meat tenderizer in one application but has other mechanisms that support various aspects of health. As a mixture of proteases, bromelain has been used by Europeans for many years for its support of the body’s normal inflammatory response and healing process. One study provided support of bromelain for promoting overall general well-being. There is also support for its role in promoting healthy cells. In some instances, Bromelain works to support the body’s normal digestion of protein but, when taken on an empty stomach, it is not used as a digestive enzyme but supports systemic functions throughout the body.

How will DNA Miracles Chewable Probiotics affect digestion?

There are many aspects to good digestion. They include enzymes (which start breaking down foods in the mouth and are found in the intestines), pH conditions, bile from the gall bladder, intestinal microflora and some digestive properties contained in the food that we eat. Diet and supplementing your intestines with probiotics can help support digestion. Well balanced intestinal micro flora will promote healthy digestive system functions.

What is LiveBac™*, and why is it important?

Probiotics are live microorganisms and must remain live while bottled and when ingested in order to be effective in the digestive tract. However, as sensitive organisms, many probiotics in many products die off quickly when bottled. Furthermore, many probiotics die during the digestive process before reaching the large intestine because of the harshly acidic environment in the stomach. LiveBac is a patented technology which protects the bacteria to help ensure that they stay alive and protected so they are optimally functional in the digestive tract.

*LiveBac™ is a trademark of Nutraceutix, Inc.

Can children under age two take DNA Miracles Chewable Probiotics?

No, this product is recommended for ages two and older. There is conflicting research as to when a child’s own probiotic microflora is determined (one or two years of age).
